Our founder and Executive Director has over 35 years experience in working with children and families in private practice and in the human services field. Kirk has been actively involved with children and adolescents in residential settings, foster care and shelter care.
His strong desire to see children and families succeed, coupled with his vast experience, makes Kirk a strong advocate for the children and families we serve.
Kiah Staib
Adoption Care Coordinator
Kiah Staib joined Family Creations Adoptions, Inc. as an Office Assistant in January 2010 and was later promoted to Adoption Care Coordinator. She assists with birth mothers and adoptive families handling their day-to-day needs, building their adoption plan, offering support and peace throughout, communication and overall well-being. Kiah assists in all aspects of the adoption process and offers a hand to hold throughout. Kiah builds long lasting relationships with all of our clients and is a true asset in various ways.
In addition to Kiah’s Adoption experience, she has personal experience with the Foster Care system, Community outreach programs, has hosted Groups for troubled youth, Addiction recovery for loved ones and more. Kiah’s heart is worn on her sleeve, she is truly passionate about helping others and naturally acts as a caretaker to all who cross her path.
Katey Zmijewski
Adoption Care Support
Katey joined Family Creations Adoption Agency in May 2024 as Adoption Care Support, bringing enthusiasm and compassion to the team. She earned her Bachelor’s in Human Communication from the University of Central Florida in May 2021, where she developed a passion for advocacy, particularly in mental health awareness.
As an adoptee herself, Katey’s personal experience informs her commitment to supporting others in the adoption journey. Growing up in a closed adoption, she discovered her biological family at 18, shaping her advocacy for open adoption and birth mother support. Motivated by empathy, she aims to be the advocate her birth mother never had, fostering a compassionate environment that honors the complex emotions of adoption. Katey is dedicated to empowering families and individuals, ensuring every voice in the adoption process is heard and respected.
CHERYL EISEN YEARY
Legal Counsel
Our attorney has been an adoption lawyer for more than 20 years. A graduate of the University of Florida School of Law, she is a fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and a member of the Florida Adoption Council.
Cheryl has broad adoption experience, both domestic and international, and is a certified adoption mediator. She has twice been awarded for her pro bono work on behalf of abused and neglected children.
She is an adoptee herself, and the adoptive parent of two grown sons.
